MARIKA KAARNAPaintings 4.6.2011 – 23.6.2011

Autumn, 2011
oil and acrylic on canvas
145 x 145 cm

Marika Kaarna´s (b. 1966) work is characterised by her distinctive and individualistic hand. Her paintings suggest naïve and surrealist influences. Despite their naïve style, Kaarna´s pieces are more than just representations of everyday life. Rather, they often offer comment, take a stance. Motifs that at first may appear childlike transcend themselves to become universal and timeless.
