Jan Ijäs (b. 1975) lives and works in Helsinki, where he studied documentary film directing in Aalto University. Ijäs's film SWEET MOV(I)E received the Risto Jarva Award in 2011 and 2012 he was awarded the Jury Prize at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition in Copenhagen. In 2018 he received The William Thuring designated prize awarded by The Finnish Art Association. His movies have been screened in more than a hundred Finnish and international film festivals and in exhibitions in museums and galleries. Ijäs’s works are included in several collection in Finland and abroad, for example, The Finnish National gallery, Helsinki Art Museum, Saastamoinen Foundation (Espoo, Finland), Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Art Collection (Rovaniemi, Finland) and Charlottenborg Kunsthal (Copenhagen, Denmark).
